Our Motto: SAPERE AUDE
Sapere Aude is a Latin saying that means “have courage to be wise.”
Horace, a Roman poet during Augustus’ reign, coined the phrase
Sapere Aude. Immanuel Kant
popularized this saying in his work,
The Enlightenment.
At Lyceum Preparatory Academy, the faculty is committed to the development of students’ minds.
Throughout all classes, students are encouraged to think for themselves and develop their own ideas.
We do not emphasize rote memorization. Rather, we cultivate deep understanding by teaching
critical thinking, a life skill that translates to all academic endeavors, as well as in the workplace.
Along with thinking for oneself, we strive to prepare students for leadership roles in their
communities. Success of this academy is measured by instilling in each student a passion for
learning and a mind full of ideas. We are not concerned with narrow probabilities. We are
concerned with the great expanse of possibilities.
